The Wafid medical appointment (previously known as GAMCA appointment) is a mandatory medical screening process for individuals traveling to GCC countries for employment, residence, or family visas.
The Wafid system is managed by the Gulf Health Council (GHC), and only authorized centers listed on the official Wafid portal (www.wafid.com) can conduct these tests. Applicants cannot choose a clinic on their own — the system automatically assigns one in Kolkata or nearby areas.
Every country in the Gulf region requires foreign workers and dependents to pass a medical fitness test before issuing a visa. This ensures that travelers are free from infectious or chronic diseases that could pose health risks.
