SoloEnt is a free AI-native desktop writing workspace built for serious story creators. Unlike subscription-locked cloud tools, SoloEnt runs entirely on your local machine — your creative work stays on your device, and you remain in full control of the AI. The philosophy is simple: AI should serve the writer’s vision, not replace it.  At the core of every SoloEnt project is the SoloEnt.md file — a living “story constitution” that acts as the AI’s long-term memory. It stores your story’s world-building, character profiles, plot arcs, and writing rules in one place, ensuring narrative consistency across thousands of words. Think of it as your project’s Central Control Panel.  SoloEnt gives authors full flexibility through its Rules, Workflows, and Skills system. Rules set persistent creative constraints (tone, style, point-of-view). Workflows define multi-step writing pipelines you can invoke at any time. Skills are reusable, shareable prompt modules that improve the AI’s behavior on specific creative tasks. By maintaining your own SKILL.md, SoloEnt adapts progressively to how you actually write.  The v0.3.0 Plugin Marketplace makes extending your workspace effortless — browse and install any plugin (a Rule, Workflow, Skill, or curated set) in a single tap. Official plugins include a professional chapter review tool and an anti-AI-tone filter. Community plugin sharing is coming in a future release.  SoloEnt supports BYOK (bring your own API key) for any major LLM provider, and local models via LM Studio or Ollama — even on the free plan. Free registered users also get access to a rotating selection of frontier models (currently GLM-5, MiniMax M2.5, Kimi K2.5, Seed 2.0 Lite, DeepSeek V3.2) under limited monthly tokens. Paid Lite, Pro, and Max plans start at $9.9/month with transparent token usage dashboards.
