The Jim Corbett Tiger Reserve is named after a famous British hunter, James Edward Corbett (also known as Jim Corbett), who was popular among the locals because it freed them from the tigers that attacked them.

Nestled in the foothills of the majestic Himalayas, Jim Corbett National Park stands as a testament to India’s rich biodiversity and commitment to wildlife conservation. Established in 1936 as Hailey National Park, it is the country’s oldest national park and was later renamed in honor of the renowned hunter-turned-conservationist, Jim Corbett Jeep Safari. Spanning over 1,300 square kilometers, the park’s diverse landscapes-ranging from dense Sal forests and expansive grasslands to serene riverine belts and rugged hills-create a sanctuary for a plethora of flora and fauna.
