To configure BigPond Webmail in Outlook 2007, the required settings are almost the same as for other email clients. Launch Outlook 2007, go to Tools, and click on Account Settings. Adding an account for the Outlook email client can be done through the following steps: Within the Email tab, click New and follow these steps: For selecting the service provider, choose Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP. To start, click Next.
First, enter your name, your BigPond email, and your password. Check the appropriate box once done. In this case, choose to manually edit server settings and move forward. Based on your choice, you can choose either POP3 or IMAP:
Incoming server: pop.telstra.com41, port 993, SSL enabled
Incoming server: imap.telstra.com41, and port 25 is allowed
smtp.telstra.com on ports 25 or 465, SSL provisioned
In this case, enable Outgoing Server Authentication and check that “Use the same settings as my incoming mail server” is selected. Click Next and Finish to exit the outgoing settings.
