Description
Varicose veins, often referred to as varicoses or varicosities, can develop when veins enlarge, expand, and overflow with blood. Varicose veins frequently seem swollen and inflated and are bluish-purple or red in color. They can hurt at times. It is a very common condition, especially in women. Approximately 25% of adults have varicose veins. Because standing and walking place additional strain on the lower body's veins, they usually develop on the lower legs.
